About the project
Belvedere College's Access Programme has offered a full six-year secondary education since 1988 to boys who might otherwise be unable to attend for financial reasons. The programme depends on donors and sponsors.
The college wanted one film that shows supporters what their giving makes possible, and we had one day to shoot it. The recce, shot list and schedule were finished in advance, the interview questions were written to draw out a story rather than soundbites, and every cutaway was planned, so the whole day went on filming.

A documentary-style film built on one prepared interview, lit on location, with scenes filmed around the school. The cutaways were planned shot by shot at the recce, so the day was spent filming rather than looking for shots.
